this marine sanctuary derives his name from either the leopard sharks resting around the pinnacles or, another theory, from guitar sharks that are encountered time by time.
an amazingly colourful reef is home to vast schools of tropicals, multicolored soft corals and vibrant seafans - this spot is for us one of the best spots in the south andaman sea.only the northern most outcrop breaks the surface and is a good start for a drift south over an amazing coral and seafan garden towards the last pinnacle that is perfect for the safety stop. the wall there is just great, if the current allows you to turn around the southern most corner. anemones everywhere on the top, a great end of a great dive.
to protect this fragile ecosystem the thai government declared this site a marine sanctuary in 1992. all forms of commercial fishing, marine life collection or other forms of harmful activity like spear-fishing are prohibited.
