bali, one of the most versatile islands we know ...
there's just so much to take in: the views over bright green rice paddies, rainforest-covered mountain ranges with magnificent flora and fauna, romantic mountain lakes, powerful towering volcanos and craters, a most versatile coastline, and a mystic religion with ancient temples and ceremonies. take the first step out of the plane and you're surrounded by alluring scents, exotic sounds and radiant colours of an unique island to be explored.
... well, both on land and under water.
bali is part of the world's largest archipelago and embedded in waters with the richest bio diversity of the world. the lombok straight with it's strong currents supply the reefs with enough nutriments to feed their opulence of corals and fishes. it accounts for great visibilities as well as some mind blowing drift dives. another big plus on the list is the many variations of divesites: wrecks, steep drop offs, bommies, coral ridges, black volcanic outcrops, slopes, limestone shores, sea grass beds... diving here is a never ending adventure and impressive experience for all levels of divers. the calm and protected bays full of life are just perfect for starting the adventure!
BALI'S DIVE SITES
get connected to our partners on the island:
we recommend the little coastal villages
tulamben and
amed as our favourite locations to stay as divers. most non-diving tourist stay in the urban south, but the travel time to the good dive sites is uncomfortably long. here you'll be near by the best dive sites of the east coast, surrounded by tranquil balinese nature waiting to be discovered during non-diving days. in the last years as bali's reputation as a premier diving destination grows, a wide range of accommodation from low budget losmen (pensions) to fine luxurious boutique resorts spread in and around the villages.
